Snapchat: When bad UX is the best option.
Snapchat is quickly becoming the number 1 choice of social network for young millennial (16 – 25). It’s destroying it’s competition in terms of engagement and relevance amongst its competition. Here’s the thing: Snapchat would never pass a usability test, users fail to understand the underlying concept and functionality. Only after days of use does it become clear. How can such a “broken” user experience become so successful? And why, as I will argue, is a steep learning curve sometimes the right answer for a product?
